Below is the glossary for the letter D.
Throughout our site and especially on the tutorial pages you may see words in blue and underlined. These are links to some of the terms here where we hope to be able to clarify the meaning.

Data - Data is a widely used word and in general describes information that is stored electronically
Default - the default in terms of computer software means to be as it was when it started or was first installed
Desktop - When your computer is switched on and logged on you are presented with a coloured screen and sometimes with a picture displayed and some icons such as My Computer and Recycle Bin; this is your 'Desktop'
Dialog Box - A box that generally wants input from you. This can be an open or save box or similar.
Document - a document is a file you create with words or numbers such as a letter or a presentation.
DOS - DOS is a command line base system where the user types what they want the computer to do.
